However, active members of the crypto community have already managed to donate $414 in cryptocurrency. Some users are using the OP_Return field to accompany their transactions with messages addressed to the German authorities:
- One message read: “You are giving us a wonderful, censorship-free platform.”
- Several transactions included the name Adolf Hitler or a numerical code meaning “Heil Hitler.”
- One user sent $0.72 from an address that, when translated into letters, represents the surname of Elon Musk.
- Another user sent $4 from an address containing the phrase “FucKyou.”
German Bundestag member Joana Cotar also criticized the authorities’ actions, calling on them to stop the “ridiculous” sale of cryptocurrency and instead focus on developing a clear legal framework for the digital assets industry.
