Maria Corina Machado, a key figure in the Venezuelan opposition, voiced her support for Bitcoin, stating that the cryptocurrency has become a “lifeline” for the country and its citizens, who are suffering from severe economic hardships due to hyperinflation and financial instability.

“Bitcoin gives many people the ability to bypass the strict currency exchange restrictions imposed by the government, as well as unfavorable exchange rates. What started as a humanitarian tool has now transformed into a powerful means of resistance,” she noted.

Machado also emphasized that the opposition is seriously considering the use of Bitcoin as a national reserve. She added that cryptocurrency not only has the potential to protect citizens’ savings from devaluation but could also become an important tool for rebuilding the country’s economy in the future.

Amid increasing financial sanctions and pressure on traditional banking systems, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies may offer Venezuela alternative paths for economic stabilization and ensuring its independence from external factors.
