A team inspired by the iconic Netflix series Black Mirror has announced the launch of its own token, accompanied by a large-scale airdrop. Over 60% of the total supply is set to be distributed directly to the community. According to the creators, this is more than just a digital initiative — it’s an attempt to bring the show’s dystopian themes to life in an interactive blockchain-based reality.
“The official Black Mirror token is coming. The most iconic dystopian series is going on-chain. Billions of views. Millions of fans. One token,” the team stated.
The project is built on KOR Protocol and backed by well-known names such as Animoca Brands, Niantic Labs, and Avalanche. At its core lies a virtual assistant named Iris, who monitors user activity both on the blockchain and across social media platforms to assign a reputation score — a concept deeply aligned with the show’s themes of surveillance, digital identity, and social stratification.
Each user is invited to claim a Social ID Card — an NFT passport that records and tracks their on-chain reputation. A higher reputation unlocks greater benefits:
- Increased airdrop allocations
- Governance rights in platform development
- Membership in the Smile Club
- Access to elite rewards, whitelist spots, and other perks
“We are building a fair, transparent, and portable on-chain reputation system that can thrive in any Web3 environment. Traditional analytics are no longer enough to accurately assess user contribution,” say the developers.
To join the platform, users must connect an Ethereum or Solana-compatible wallet and link their X (formerly Twitter) account. Future updates will include features like an AI mentor, dynamic quests, and interactive Tamagotchi-style mini-games.
This isn’t the first time a blockchain project has drawn inspiration from a Netflix hit. In 2021, the infamous SQUID token — based on Squid Game — surged over 2280% before collapsing in a rug pull. Unlike that scam, however, the Black Mirror token promises greater transparency, legitimate backing, and a well-thought-out user experience.
