An unknown individual released and withdrew 5 billion GALA tokens from the Web3 gaming platform Gala Games, worth around $210 million. According to Etherscan data, the attacker managed to sell 600 million GALA through the decentralized exchange Uniswap.
At the time of writing, the quotes have partially recovered, with a decline of just over 3% in the last 24 hours. Gala Games co-founder Eric Schiermeyer confirmed the exploit, stating that the team detected the smart contract compromise within 45 minutes and blocked unauthorized access. The remaining 4.4 billion GALA tokens held by the hacker have been blocked and burned.
