The bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange Mt.Gox sent about 500 BTC (~$35 million) to an unknown address, as reported by the Arkham service.

In May, Mt.Gox began moving its bitcoins for the first time in five years. At that time, the exchange held 137,892 BTC valued at $9.35 billion.

In July, the exchange’s trustee started compensation payments to users through authorized platforms. At the end of the month, Kraken and Bitstamp reported receiving and distributing assets.

According to Arkham, on August 21, Mt.Gox transferred 1,264.7 BTC ($75.36 million) to Bitstamp.

On September 24, Kraken returned 127.6 BTC ($8.07 million) to the platform.

The last significant transfer to an unmarked address was recorded on August 20. Subsequently, Arkham analysts identified the movement of 13,265 BTC ($784 million) as asset redistribution between Mt.Gox’s wallets.

At the time of writing, the exchange’s wallets hold 44,905 BTC, worth approximately $3.12 billion.

It is worth noting that Mt.Gox has postponed the final deadline for compensation payments to October 31, 2025.
