The prediction platform Kalshi won a court case against the CFTC

As a result, it received approval to accept bets on the outcome of the presidential elections. However, despite this, the CFTC immediately filed an emergency motion to temporarily halt the decision for 14 days.

Kalshi representatives claim that the regulator’s actions deliberately delay the process, which could have a devastating impact on the platform. They argue that prolonged uncertainty undermines the trust of users, partners, and investors, which could lead to a decline in activity and potential closure of the project.

Meanwhile, experts note that this case could set a significant precedent for regulating platforms involved in predictions and betting on political events in the U.S. The CFTC continues to insist that such bets violate laws governing gambling and financial markets.
