On the evening of September 18, crypto analyst ZachXBT reported the hacking of several well-known X (Twitter) accounts, including those of Lenovo India, Yahoo News UK, footballer Neymar, and others. These accounts were used to promote a Solana-based meme coin called HACKED.

The hackers utilized the compromised accounts to create an illusion of trust and encourage users to participate in a pump scheme for the token. To attract as much attention as possible, they posted from the hacked pages, including accounts with millions of followers, boosting the credibility of the scam.

However, their plan didn’t see much success — the token’s market capitalization peaked at $67,000, with the hackers’ profit amounting to around $8,000. Despite initial interest, users quickly realized the scam, and the token’s price started to plummet.

According to ZachXBT, the hackers ultimately suffered losses, as the costs of hacking and promotion exceeded their actual profits. This incident once again raised concerns about account security and the need for stronger protection measures for social media users.
